Boston Big Data Summit Announces September Meeting Event

Use Cases for Emerging Big Data Solutions will Include Discussions of Columnar, NoSQL, Hadoop and OLTP Data Stores

Boston, MA. The Boston Big Data Summit (BBDS) will hold its next meeting on September 20, 2010, from 6:00-9:00pm at the Foley Hoag Emerging Enterprise Center in Waltham, MA. The meeting will put the spotlight on four emerging classes of Big Data management technologies - Columnar, NoSQL, Hadoop and OLTP. Vendors representing each technology category, respectively, will be Infobright, 10gen (MongoDB), Cloudera and VoltDB.

The format of the meeting will be:

6:00-7:00pm - arrival check-in, networking and light snacks
7:00-8:00pm - use case presentations from each of the four vendor participants
8:00-9:00pm - panel discussion and Q&A

The use case presentations will provide a 15 minute overview of early production deployments for each of the four technology categories. Vendors will highlight why customers chose their class of solution, the rationale for those choices and the customers' implementation experiences.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Fred Holahan of Open Source Advisory http://www.opensourceadvisory.com, and will explore important aspects of implementing Big Data solutions such as development agility, solution scaling, performance and runtime management/monitoring.
