Boston Limited, a Bronze Sponsor at ISC 2014, to Unveil Powerful and Scalable HPC Solutions at Supercomputing Event

Boston Ltd is a Bronze Sponsor at the annual ISC 2014 in Leipzig, Germany from June 23 - 25th, where they will be highlighting some new innovations in their range of powerful and scalable HPC server and workstation solutions.

Boston Limited, now in its 21st year as distribution partner for Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ: SMCI), is a Bronze Sponsor at the annual International Supercomputing Conference 2014 in Leipzig, Germany from June 23 - 25th where they will be highlighting some new innovations in their range of powerful and scalable HPC server and workstation solutions at ISC 2014. For more information please visit Boston on Stand #206.

On show will be a live demo of a server solution that harnesses application accelerating SSDs using Memory Channel Storage™ technology. Powered by Diablo Technologies' Memory Channel Storage (MCS™), the SSD's innovative design connects flash storage to the memory channel using an industry standard DIMM form factor, enabling it to be fully interoperable with RDIMM's. Diablo's Memory Channel Storage enables new levels of application performance; capable of delivering as low as 5 μsec write latency, random read/write performance of up to 150K/65K IOPS per DIMM, and data transfer rates up to 1GB/s/760MB/s sequential read/write - enabling I/O performance to scale while maintaining low and deterministic latency.

Also on Stand #206 Boston is launching the next generation in their critically acclaimed range of high performance, GPU-powered Venom workstations. Powered by an NVIDIA® GPU's, next generation Intel® Xeon™ processors, and innovative liquid cooling technology, the latest Venom is a personal supercomputer that allows engineers, designers and content creators to do more, faster. The NVIDIA Quadro K6000 professional graphics solution, powered by NVIDIA Kepler architecture, combines 12GB of memory, 2,880 NVIDIA CUDA® parallel processing cores, accelerated double-precision computation, plus the ability to drive up to four ultra-high resolution displays or projectors.

An exciting feature of the Boston stand at ISC is an exclusive NDA room. This year Boston is previewing their next generation Viridis microserver, featuring the ARM® processor architecture. Access is restricted and by appointment only so please book now to secure your place early and avoid disappointment.

Mr Manoj Nayee, Managing Director of Boston Limited, says "Boston is delighted to be unveiling our latest server and workstation solutions at this year's ISC, designed to provide ultimate performance and scalability for all HPC professionals."

"Boston has been at the forefront of innovative technology for over 20 years, providing cutting edge computational solutions to a range of companies relying on powerful, energy efficient HPC solutions. At this year's ISC, Boston has collaborated with some of the most influential and impressive HPC technology providers, including CoolIt Systems™, Diablo Technologies® Intel®, Mellanox®, NVIDIA®, SanDisk® and Supermicro®, highlighting our commitment to providing customers with the best server and workstation solutions on the market."

Partner Support at ISC 2014

Aside from their own stand, Boston is supporting a number of partners at ISC 2014.

• Stand #411 with CoolIT Systems - Showcasing their high density, high performance & energy efficient range of liquid-cooled Supermicro FatTwin and Hyper-Speed servers.

• Stand #430 with Supermicro - Intel® Lustre parallel storage solutions; a new generation of Lustre Software that expands high performance computing into the commercial enterprise.

• Stand #293 with EPCC - For the second year running Boston is sponsoring the University of Edinburgh's entry into the 2014 Student Cluster Competition, an intense challenge that allows students to showcase their expertise to the HPC community by competing to deliver the most power efficient cluster solution of their peers. In an attempt to improve on last year's feat of finishing 2nd in the LINPACK test, delivering the most FLOPS per node, and finishing as the fastest European cluster overall, Boston has supplied the EPCC team with a cluster consisting of 10-core Intel® Xeon 'Ivy Bridge' CPUs and NVIDIA® Tesla K40 GPUs; as well as liquid cooling technology from CoolIT Systems to cool the CPUs and GPUs. This has resulted in lower overall power measurement as it has made it possible to reduce the number of fans per server to cool the CPUs and GPUs.
