Boulder Digital Arts Offers One-Week Certificate Program For People Interested in Shooting Professional Digital Photographs
Colorado's premier resource for technically creative professionals will be offering an intensive one-week Digital Photography Transitions Certificate Program March 7-11, at their Broadway Production Studio
Online, March 1, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Boulder Digital Arts, Colorado's premier resource for technically creative professionals, will be offering an intensive one-week Digital Photography Transitions Certificate Program at their Broadway Production Studio March 7 - 11. The program is designed to teach students how to operate a professional digital SLR camera, create an efficient digital workflow, perform basic photo editing in Photoshop and master color management techniques for the highest quality output. The program will be taught by an impressive group of industry professionals: Chris Brown, Stephen Collector, Steve Gandy and Jan Kabili.
BDA's Transitions Certificate Programs - which offer a full curriculum in many of the technically creative disciplines, including video/film production and post-production, web/interactive development, digital photography, graphic design and business and marketing topics such as search engine optimization, web marketing and social media - provide participants the practical knowledge and skills needed to be successful within a particular discipline. Transitions classes are designed using a project-based learning approach that combines engaging lectures with hands-on practice. Every Transitions course has a clear and concise learning outcome for students. Class sizes are limited to eight students so that the instructor can assist and engage with every student individually.
"These are skills-based classes where the goal is to take what you've learned and apply it to your job tomorrow," explains Bruce Borowsky, co-founder of Boulder Digital Arts. "Our Transitions programs are unique in that they downplay academic theory and, instead, focus on practical tricks of the trade from leading industry professionals."
Students interested in taking the Digital Photography Transitions class should have a basic working knowledge of their digital SLR camera, be reasonably comfortable operating in manual mode and have some basic experience shooting still photographs. Students must also have some basic computer skills.
Registration fees for Boulder Digital Arts' Digital Photography Transitions Certificate Program are $1,199 for BDA members and $1,249 for non-members. After March 2, prices increase to $1,209 and $1,259, respectively. Included in this registration fee is BDA's concierge service, in which a BDA staff member follows up with a Transitions student after registration to answer any questions and assist in arranging any travel accommodations, transportation or other logistical needs. Boulder Digital Arts has negotiated discounted rates at several local hotels and service providers for all Transitions students, as well.
The Colorado Department of Labor and Education (CDLE) has added Boulder Digital Arts' Transitions Certificate Programs to Colorado's Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Eligible Training Provider list. Those who are unemployed and looking to reinvigorate their careers with BDA's Transitions Certificate Programs are eligible for financial assistance that can be used for training and career enhancement.
