Bounce Energy, a Houston-based electricity company, is giving fans the opportunity to pick a charity that they will support. To help bring more awareness to the effort Bounce Energy is reaching out via social media.
Online, August 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Every month, Bounce Energy has generously made contributions to a number of different charities. This month, the Texas energy company is doing something a little different. From now until September 15, Bounce Energy fans and customers will be able to nominate which charity will receive a $2,500 donation from Bounce. Bounce Energy is taking advantage of the power of social media and is reaching out to its Facebook fans and charities on Facebook to spread the word.
Whether by helping relief efforts to aid hunger and natural disasters, raising money for cancer and AIDS research, or providing school supplies for impoverish children, Bounce Energy has always supported its community and charities. For the past year, Bounce Energy has been involved with raising awareness for different charitable causes. It has donated auction packages for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, American Cancer Society, and St. Luke's Day School, donated food to the Houston Food Bank, and planted trees along Houston roads. It has also donated to the American Red Cross for Haiti earthquake victims and to the National Wildlife Federation for the Gulf oil spill.
From now until September 15, fans of Bounce Energy on Facebook will be able to nominate and vote for a charity they would like Bounce Energy to donate to. The charity with the most votes on Facebook on September 15 will receive $2500. Social media has become a successful medium for businesses who want to have better communication with their customers. The Bounce Energy Facebook page serves as a channel where customers can leave questions and concerns about their service as well as find company information and current promotions. For this promotion, when a user "likes" Bounce Energy on Facebook, they will be given the opportunity to nominate a charity they support.
