Bound-by Marketing Working with Better Rest Solutions to Spread Awareness of Sleep Apnea

Bound-by Marketing, Inc. (BBM) and Better Rest Solutions (BRS) are working together to help spread awareness of sleep apnea.

Bound-by Marketing, Inc. (BBM) and Better Rest Solutions (BRS) are working together to help spread awareness of sleep apnea. It is fundamental to help "wake up America" in reference to the risks of the worldwide epidemic sleep apnea and the treatment of the disorder. Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) or simply sleep apnea can affect anyone at any age and can be extremely severe in some people. It is important for those that suffer with sleep apnea and are being treated successfully, to share their stories about how treatment has helped to empower them to live a healthy life with sleep apnea. Spreading awareness of this epidemic is the only way to help those that are untreated get the help they need to live a long life.

According to the World Health Organization approximately 100 million people worldwide have OSA. In the United States, OSA is estimated to affect 1 in 4 men and 1 in 9 women; and affects 23 million working adults. Untreated moderate or severe OSA is associated with a 6 times increased risk of death from all causes, independent of other illnesses. Treatment is out there for these people suffering with the disorder.

For those who may believe they have sleep apnea it is important to schedule an appointment with a General Practitioner for a referral to a local sleep doctor in the area. The sleep doctor will schedule an overnight sleep study to diagnosis how severe the case of sleep apnea might be.

There have been significant strides made in sleep apnea therapy. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy is the most widely-used and most effective treatment for OSA. It is designed to keep the airway open during sleep. Because sleep apnea is a chronic condition that requires long-term management, it also requires long-term maintenance of the equipment that is used to treat these patients.

With CPAP therapy comes many challenges and one is keeping the equipment clean and sanitized. Better Rest Solutions' (BRS) innovative product, SoClean® automatically completes the daily chore of sanitizing a CPAP mask, hose, and reservoir without any disassembly. It uses ozone or "activated oxygen" to eliminate any mold, bacteria, and viruses it comes in contact with-safely and effectively. The SoClean utilizes this ozone to sanitize CPAP equipment and kills any bacteria or viruses that might be living in or on the end-user's equipment and mask.

"There are so many people living with sleep apnea that need to be made aware of the deadly disorder and become more involved in their own health," said Mike Schmidt, President of BRS. "We are dedicated to help spread awareness of sleep apnea and to encourage CPAP users to maintain sanitized CPAP equipment to help keep them healthier and living longer as well."

Because many of both companies employees either have OSA, or have a close family member that has it they are dedicated to helping to spread awareness of the disorder as well as provide a device to help others stay healthier and compliant to their therapy.

"When my husband was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, I had to find a better way to clean his equipment to keep him healthy. I found the SoClean and immediately fell in love with the product. Enough that I wanted to market it. My husband's equipment is clean, he is healthier, and I am dedicated to helping others like my husband experience what it is like to literally have "SoClean" equipment by the bedside each and every night," said Lyndsay Johnson, owner of BBM.

It is critical to ensure those who suffer with OSA are experiencing proper sleep apnea treatment and therapy coupled with an effective and effortless way to clean their equipment at home or on the road.
