This October sees two international events take place in Whitby. The first ever Bram Stoker International Film Festival and the second of Whitby's annual Gothic Weekenders take place in the North Yorkshire coastal resort in the second half of the month. Famed for its connection with Bram Stoker, author of the world renowned Dracula tales, Whitby is the perfect place to celebrate all things Gothic. A new travel guide catering for tourists visiting Whitby has been launched to help visitors plan their trip and to get the very best from their visit. Whitby native Thomas Paylor, editor of the online Whitby guide believes his recent experiences of visiting Whitby to view property give him an understanding of what tourists want to see when planning a trip. 'There is so much to do in Whitby that only a local understanding of the area can reveal all of the hidden gems that are worth seeing. My parents have just retired and would really like to move back to Whitby, so we're up viewing properties regularly, that's how the guide came about' Thomas explained. 'My father Kevan Paylor was born here, my Grandmother still lives here and the Paylor name has always had strong connections to the town. Kev's already written some great articles - it's really important that you can access detailed, up to date information before making a trip'

Remembering his childhood visits to Whitby Thomas said 'As a tourist destination Whitby has a lot to offer and can cater for families as well as these specialist events. I remember when I was young that there always seemed to be a lot happening in the town. This hasn't really changed.' The Whitby guide is a comprehensive tourist guide to Whitby, North Yorkshire.
