Britannia Mining Invited To Discuss Iron Ore Project With Malawi President
Britannia Mining, a British mining development company, was recently invited by Her Excellency Mrs Joyce Banda President of Malawi to take part in a round table business forum held in London.

A small group of prominent businesses and investors, including Britannia Mining, were selected to talk about enhancing the business climate for operators and investors in Malawi.

Mining is considered a key driver of economic growth in the country. Along with energy, infrastructure, agriculture and tourism, mining forms part of the Presidential Initiative.
President Banda said that her investment vision for Malawi is a genuine commitment to move the country from aid to trade. She plans to achieve this by developing closer relationships between the private and public sectors, creating opportunities for dialogue and building strong meaningful and sustainable partnerships.
Baroness Chalker commented that under President Banda, Malawi now has a government that can respond to the need for change, making it easier for businesses to operate and create jobs.
Kenneth Roberts further commented, "in the few weeks that President Banda has held office, the commitment she has shown the private sector is most encouraging. Britannia Mining intends to work with Malawi stakeholders in a proposed working group that will meet regularly to develop trade in Malawi."
