British Airways CEO Willie Walsh Discusses Airline Strikes in the July Issue of Exec Digital

Exec Digital's July issue features airline strikes with Willie Walsh, and how to manage the workplace while the boss is away on vacation.

Norwich, UK - As a pioneering digital media site that influences key decision-makers across countries, Exec Digital announces the launch of its July issue. This month, Exec Digital interviews British Airways boss, Willie Walsh. Can Walsh survive another summer of strikes at the airline? The former pilot discusses volcanoes, mergers, strikes, and more.

Rather than firefight at home, Walsh will expand British Airways' business by linking with Iberia, the Spanish carrier, and American Airlines. BA has been seeking a US partner since the 1980s - wooing United Airlines and then USAir before first opening talks with AA in 1997 - and Walsh describes the eventual deal as a major strategic milestone. "It is a very significant development and one which we have pursued for some considerable time," Walsh says. "It is more important strategically than it ever was in the past."

Also in the July edition, Exec Digital takes a look at what to do when the boss is on vacation. But while the cat's away, the mice won't have too much time to play - especially in today's ever-increasing no-room-for-error workplace.
