Broadway Composer to Make Appearence at the Family Financial Centers Gala for CHOP!!!
Doylestown, PA, September 22, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Broadway composer Jill Santoriello is making an appearance in Doylestown, PA on September 24th, 2016 to play music from her brand new musical for The Eckert Group’s “Family Financial Centers Gala for CHOP!” This is the 4th annual Gala for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia hosted by Family Financial Centers, and they have donated $17,500 so far to Pediatric Diabetes Research. This years’ event will be held at The Fred Beans Cadillac Showroom, 841 N. Easton Road in Doylestown, PA from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Tickets are $50 per person and the entire ticket price and additional donations go directly to CHOP. The evening consists of appetizers, beer, and wine followed by performances by past and present Broadway performers. Featured performers are Jeremiah James (The Robber Bridegroom/The Fantasticks), Heather Jane Rolff (Shrek/Les Miserables), Jim Schubin (The Sound of Music/The Fantasticks), and Alicia Albright (Wicked).
Jill Santoriello, the “A Tale of Two Cities” composer will be playing original songs from her new musical “It Happened in Key West,” a dark love story based on the true account of Carl Von Cosel, an X-ray technician who attempted to cure a young Cuban patient and in the process fell in love. Book and additional lyrics are by Jason Huza, along with Jeremiah James who is an additional book writer and came up with the original concept. Mr. James will also be performing selections with Ms. Santoriello from “It Happened in Key West.”
Jill Santoriello is an American musician, composer, lyricist, and author. She is a self-taught musician (playing piano “by ear”) whose award winning first musical “A Tale of Two Cities” was an Outer Critics Circle Award nominee for Outstanding New Musical in 2009. It officially opened on September 18, 2008 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York. In addition to the 2009 Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for Outstanding New Musical, “Tale” also received an additional Outer Critics Circle nomination for Best Actor and 3 Drama Desk Award nominations.
