Online, January 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - BT Diamond IP, a leading provider of software and appliance products that help customers effectively manage complex Internet protocol (IP) networks, today announced the expansion of its multi-vendor support capabilities to include Microsoft Windows Server 2008.
This expansion builds on IPControl™ products' current support of Sparc Solaris, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, WindowsXP, RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and corresponding VMware virtual machines.
Multi-vendor support simplifies IP address administration by enabling customers to manage a variety of DHCP and DNS servers using IPControl's single intuitive web interface. Customer benefits include:
• Reduced training time and expense : The single interface reduces the need to train administrators on each vendor's user interface, which range from Windows graphical interfaces to text file editors.
• Ease of upgrade : Supported DHCP and DNS servers can be swapped out without having to modify processes or upgrade administrator skills.
• Increased automation : IPControl's automation capabilities streamline IP addressplanning and assignment and DHCP and DNS server configuration tasks.
• Greater operating efficiencies : Protect existing infrastructure investment with greater control and visibility through one single interface.
"We are pleased BT Diamond IP is expanding its multi-vendor support to include Windows Server 2008. Our customers now have an additional option for integrating their IP address management (IPAM) functions, while maintaining their investment in their existing infrastructure," said Eric Jewett, Group Product Manager of Windows Server Marketing Division at Microsoft.
"With tightening budgets, customers need to automate and consolidate IP management functions without making major capital investments," said Mike Dooley, Vice President of BT Diamond IP Operations. "Our variety of deployment options enables customers to deploy IPControl IP management software on virtual machines without making additional hardware investments, while providing the flexibility to deploy simple, secure BT Diamond IP Sapphire appliances in the future without changing the IP management interface."
