Buckshot the Movie to Save Country Music!

Filmmakers Joshua J. Smith (Writer/Director) and Jacob Whitley (Producer) announce the launch of an Indiegogo Crowd Funding campaign to produce the feature film, Buckshot.

The filmmaking team’s heroes have always been cowboys, Outlaw country stars such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard. Disenchanted with the new pop country sweeping Nashville, the filmmakers are using this movie as a platform to bring Outlaw country music back into the mainstream thus SAVING COUNTRY MUSIC.

Our feature film, Buckshot is a Country Music Road Trip Comedy.

Movie Premise - A shot at fame and fortune arrives for struggling, pop country singer Charlie Stillman in questionable, life-threatening form when he must transport Honky Tonk legend and destroyer-of-worlds Buckshot Thomas cross country for the concert of a lifetime.

About the Writer/Director

Joshua J. Smith is an award-winning filmmaker. His previous short films have been in competition at festivals including Austin Film Festival, Seattle Int’l and Santa Barbara to name a few. He is also an accomplished feature film producer; Pretty Ugly People starring Melissa McCarthy (Spy, Tammy) directed by Tate Taylor (The Help), and Kabluey featuring Lisa Kudrow (Friends).
