C+C Music Factory to Perform at Big Brothers Big Sisters Déjà Vu Celebration Fundraiser at Hard Rock Live

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward will celebrate their largest fundraiser of the year on October 3, 2015 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to honor South Florida Advocates with a special headline performance by C+C Music Factory

On Saturday, October 3rd, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County will host its annual Déjà Vu fundraiser at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. More than 500 guests are expected to attend the retro, costumed, all-night party to celebrate the mentoring success of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

At the heart of the event is the recognition of select child advocates in South Florida. This year the event recognizes BankUnited as the Visionary Corporation of the Year; Child Advocates receiving the “Champions for Children” award are Kim Segal and Glenn Spanier and National Big Brothers Big Sisters President and CEO and two term Mayor of Tampa. Pam Iorio will be honored with the “For Better For Ever” award for her national leadership and vision. Throughout the night, they will be celebrated for their personal motivation, desire and action in giving back to the youth of South Florida, and receive gold records acknowledging their “chart-topping performance.”

Deja Vu is of one of South Florida's most honored charity events at Hard Rock Live, a venue that exudes the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll and the excitement that Déjà Vu delivers to the South Florida community each year. As the Marquis sponsor, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in collaboration with Presenting Sponsor, Sixth Star Entertainment and title sponsor Wells Fargo Bank make this over the top celebration possible, which has topped the Biz Bash magazine's list of top 10 benefit events in South Florida for the past six years. This year’s Déjà vu experience will transport the guests back to the iconic night club, Whisky A-Go-Go and guests will celebrate the sights and sound from 50 years of musical legends who played at “The Whisky”.

Thanks to the planning of event chairs Alyssa Lovitt and Susan Renneisen, attendees will encounter non-stop entertainment and surprises from 6 p.m. to midnight in the form of musical acts, large scale dance productions and the always anticipated live concert. This year the dance floor will filled with guests as they are wowed by the live performance of Billboards’ multi-award winning group, C+C Music Factory to close the evening. Doug Jones and Sixth Star Entertainment produce the annual event

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County. The agency hopes to raise $250,000 in support of the programs and youth served by Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“Each year, our friends and partners across South Florida give us the greatest gift by allowing us to continue serving children and families in Broward County,” says Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County CEO Ana Cedeño. “With every donation, we strengthen our ability to make real, positive change in the lives of clients in our programs – youth who face adversity every day.”

Top sponsors of the event include; Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Wells Fargo Bank, Sixth Star Entertainment,  JM Family Enterprises, Comcast, Publix, Gables Engineering, Print Corporation of America, Marketing Matters, Stephens Distributing, and WSVN.

About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County

Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, holds itself accountable for children in its program to achieve measurable outcomes, such as educational success; avoidance of risky behaviors; and higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships.  Partnering with parents/guardians, schools, corporations and others in the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children (“Littles”) with screened volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) and monitors and supports these one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course.  Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Outcomes Survey Report reinforces the mentoring program’s evidence base of positive academic, socio-emotional and behavioral outcomes for youth, areas linked to high school graduation, avoidance of juvenile delinquency and college or job readiness.

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity, often those of single or low-income households or families where a parent is incarcerated or serving in the military, with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.  This mission has been the cornerstone of the organization’s 100-year history.  With about 350 agencies across the country, Big Brothers Big Sisters serves nearly 630,000 children, volunteers and families.
