Online, September 3, 2010 (Newswire.com) - C&M earned the award for their submission entitled, "Re-Inventing the Order Fulfillment Process in a Mature Industry". In the documentation provided to the examiners, C&M outlined a program implemented to support a large multi-national OEM's need to have maximum ordering flexibility across over 300 SKU's while simultaneously reducing dock-to-dock leadtime to less than 14 days, improving on time delivery, and, from a quality perspective, reducing PPM to world class levels. In addition to achieving these goals, both C&M and its client have seen an increase in market share that can be directly attributed to the success of the program.
The evaluation criteria used by the examiners is consistent with those used as part of the Malcolm Baldrige Award. The Baldrige Award, created by public law in 1987, is the highest level of national recognition for performance excellence that a United States' organization can receive. The sixteen year old CQIA Innovation Prize is Connecticut's entry level award on a process known as the Five Steps to the Baldrige.
Sheila Carmine, Founder and Executive Director of the 24-year old Connecticut Quality Improvement Award, relative to the Innovation Award, noted, "We find that 97% of organizations with a presence in Connecticut are accepting the challenge of developing unique products, services, and processes capable of tackling real-world problems." David Brakenwagen, C&M's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing added, "The foundation of C&M's success rests with understanding our client's business challenges and responding with innovation solutions that provide value for both organizations. We are honored to be selected as a recipient of The Innovation Prize by the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership and consider it further proof of the creativity and customer focus of the entire C&M team."
