CAC-Florida Medical Centers Hosts Community Grand Opening For Its New Wellness And Activity Center In Miami's Little Havana On Saturday Feb. 12
Online, February 3, 2011 (Newswire.com) - CAC-Florida Medical Centers will host a free community event for the grand opening of a new wellness and activity center in Little Havana, Florida. Often called "La Casita" or "Little House", CAC's Wellness and Activities Centers offer CarePlus Health Plans members and Original Medicare patients a variety of educational programs. The Wellness and Activities Centers are a social hub for many patients providing area residents with group activities that focus on wellness, healthy aging, socialization, and lifestyle enrichment, as well as games that stimulate the body and mind. CAC-Florida Medical Centers provides more than health care; the services provide quality of life through health maintenance, disease prevention and the treatment of acute and chronic conditions through both conventional and alternative healing methods.
What: Over 500 local seniors are expected to attend the Sat., Feb. 12 grand opening event, which is free and open to the public. The new wellness and activities center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and will offer participants daily lunch, exercise classes, educational seminars on a variety of medical topics, such as diabetes, hypertension and depression, hurricane and emergency preparedness seminars, slip and fall prevention classes, English classes, arts & crafts, bingo, dominoes, monthly birthday celebrations among many other activities.
