California Paints' 20th Century® Colors of America - Color Stories Featured In MyInteriorDesignKit™

Online, February 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - With over 80 years' experience in the world of paint and color, California Paints is proud to support Pearson Education, the publishing house of MyInteriorDesignKit, by including their unique 20th Century Colors of America color stories.

Color experts from Historic New England, working in partnership with California Paints, have created individual color biographies for each of the one hundred and thirty 20th Century colors. Each story begins with the year of that color's emergence in color history and continues with how each color was used and in what settings. Many of the color stories list specific design elements that were often implemented with each color.

MyInteriorDesignKit by Kerrie Kelly is an interactive learning system that uses text and online resources to engage students in the core concepts of interior design. Kelly, CEO of Kerrie Kelly Design Lab and featured designer on California Paints' online Designer Gallery, used Pearson as the vehicle for MyInteriorDesignKit. "The book, in conjunction with the interactive online tools, creates a multi-dimensional learning experience for aspiring interior designers," says Kelly.

As an integral part of the course, the virtual field trips give insight to industry trends and expertise.
