Cambodia Ranks High on a List of Best Places to Live

A well known website recently published its three best places to live in Southeast Asia. Internationliving.com is a website that specializes in expat life. For more than thirty years it has been the go to company for people thinking of repatriating.

It rated Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh as one of the best three places for people planning a retirement abroad. It isn't surprising, anyone coming to Phnom Penh on their Cambodia holiday will already know how cheap it is to exist there. Renting a room for $150 per month is not something you can do in many capital cities. For up to $500 you can get a superb apartment. Living costs on top of that are also exceptionally cheap. Socializing cost very little with beers for a dollar or less and meals at seemingly impossibly cheap prices.

Holidays in the region are as cheap as anywhere. Once the international flight is paid for, there is very little all else to worry about. Holiday makers have been coming here for many years. The draw of Angkor Wat is a huge one for many. Cambodia is an excellent venue for any holiday. The provincial northern town of Siem Reap is as nice a spot as anywhere for those seeking out a bit of tranquility and relaxation. Phnom Penh is a bit more vibrant with a healthy nightlife and plenty of bars and restaurants. However, it is still laid back, when compared to places such as Bangkok.

Tour companies are now offering many choices for travelers wanting to see a bit more of the country. Asia Tour Advisor 9ATA) are one such company that offers a large choice of Cambodia travel options. Mr. Truong Tran, CEO of ATA said, " Cambodia offers so much more than just the temples of Angkor. Of course these are deservedly, a great attraction, but we are increasingly seeing people who want more. Phnom Penh, Kampot, Battambang, the Mekong and plenty of other towns and areas, are proving popular."

There seems to be quite an exodus from Europe, Australia and America at the moment. People find a peace and tranquility in Southeast Asia that appears to be missing from their lives elsewhere. Tourism is up all the time, and some of that is due to people coming to look, with a view to moving. As more and more people move to Southeast Asia so of course tourism builds even higher. Relatives come out visiting and friends start to make the trip also.

The bonds between East and West are growing ever stronger. There are so many mixed marriages no involving people from Indochina. Businesses are settling here and there is quite simply a feel good factor about the whole region.
