Campus Announces Partnership With CalArts to Boost Online Presence

Remote learning surge inspires schools to adopt online platform to reestablish sense of community

Campus, a contemporary mobile and web-based portal platform, today announced a new partnership with the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).

Walt and Roy Disney established CalArts in the hopes of creating a multidisciplinary community of artists and musicians. Since its inception, CalArts has embraced a greater breadth of programs and diversity. CalArts is known for reaching for the cutting edge of contemporary artistic practice and now offers programs in art, design, film, music, theater, and dance.

“It’s only natural that an institution with such a forward-looking culture would also think beyond the traditional constraints of academic technology,” said Chase Williams, CEO at Campus. “Research has shown a sense of community is critical for student success. We are in the midst of unprecedented circumstances that include mandated isolation. Naturally, students feel disconnected from their peers and instructors. We’ve seen Campus provide a better way to connect with a technologically savvy generation, but adopting modern solutions is even more imperative now.”

Campus is a modern, cloud-hosted portal that connects people, platforms, and processes. The application provides students with a dynamic, one-stop-shop on any device. Campus offers an integrated digital community that increases engagement and improves the overall student experience.

"Our goal was to have a centralized space for CalArts’ growing constituencies. Requirements across our campus caused the decentralization of many components, making it increasingly difficult to keep that ‘one-stop-shop.’ We needed to consolidate various systems in one place and to do so in a cohesive and digestible manner,” said Matthew Myers, Director of Administrative Computing at CalArts. “During this time of increased remote collaboration, it is absolutely critical that we support our students, faculty, and staff in this endeavor. We chose Campus to help us meet our objectives."

The Campus team is thrilled to have the opportunity to assist CalArts in amplifying critical communications, connecting people to reinforce a sense of community, and facilitating business continuity throughout the current climate. Both organizations are excited to test the creative limits and expand the practical applications of the Campus platform.
