Canada Health Infoway selects Intelliware Development to develop software for the Message Builder project

Intelliware Development Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Canada Health Infoway to build software tools for Infoway's clinical systems integration initiative. As part of that initiative, Canada Health Infoway issued a Request

The Message Builder project will deliver tools that reduce the effort required by Clinical or Point-of Service system developers to adapt their applications to communicate using pan-Canadian standard messaging. Hospital information systems, physician office systems, or pharmacy systems, often require modifications to support the pan-Canadian standards and associated functionality in order to interoperate with existing or emerging jurisdictional electronic health record (EHR) infostructures. The Message Builder project deliverables will simplify HL7v3 message interaction and will create valid pan-Canadian messages with the goal of accelerating interoperability among EHR systems.

"Our goal with the Message Builder project is to provide developers with tools that will reduce the complexity of implementing pan-Canadian standard messaging in their systems, accelerate adoption and reduce the cost of integration with the EHR's. We were impressed with Intelliware's experience and delivery record, and with their previous investments in developing these kinds of tools. We are looking forward to working with them on the Message Builder project", said Dennis Giokas, chief technology officer at Canada Health Infoway. Intelliware's work for Infoway will leverage Intelliware's former TEAL product, which will now become the core of the Message Builder project tools.

Intelliware's selection by Infoway validates the strategic and technical directions that Intelliware has pursued to support and enable e-Health system interoperability in Canada and internationally. "We believe that our experience helping clients connect their systems to jurisdictional systems, the investments in our TEAL and TL7 products, and our work with the National Research Council's Industrial Research Assistance Program to develop HL7v3 products, were key factors in us demonstrating the capabilities required by Infoway for this work" commented Greg McKenzie, Intelliware Senior Vice-President e-Health. The project has started and the development of the Message Builder project tools is underway.
