Canadian Television Sales will now represent Canwest's Global Television Network, connecting U.S. advertisers with nearly 100% of the Canadian population.
Online, June 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Canadian Television Sales, the largest U.S. representative of Canadian media properties, has been selected to be the exclusive U.S. sales force for Canwest's Global Television Network, effective July 1, 2010. With this addition to its portfolio, CTS will have the ability to connect U.S. advertisers with nearly 100% of the Canadian population.
Global broadcasts via 11 television stations, offering a mix of entertainment, news and sports programs that reach 98.9% of English-speaking Canada. The network consistently scores many of the Top 10 programs in Canada, with major ratings hits such as House, Survivor, 24 and Heroes. Global National, the network's early-evening newscast, is Canada's most-watched news program with nearly a million viewers every weekday. Global also has successful local news programs and is the dominant local news organization in British Columbia.
"We couldn't be more excited to have this opportunity," says Michael Custardo, president of CTS. "We have represented Canwest's specialty stations for 12 years, and are thrilled to expand our partnership with the addition of the Global Television Network." CTS will also continue to represent Canwest's 19 industry-leading specialty stations, including powerhouses like Food Network, HGTV, Mystery and TVtropolis.
Through its online division, RIPE, CTS will offer digital advertising on GlobalTV.com, one of the fastest-growing broadcast sites for video in Canada. The site features full-length episodes of Global's most popular shows and boasts an average of 19 videos and over 68 minutes per viewer. RIPE will also continue to represent Canwest's publishing and specialty television sites.
