Cannabis10X Virtual Investor Pitch Events Smash Marijuana Financing Barriers

TAMPA, Fla., June 11, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Cannabis10X today announced that it has smashed the barriers of traditional cannabis financing with an innovative virtual pitch event on June 2, 2020. With hundreds of accredited investors, 20 brands, three esteemed judges and industry-leading speakers, the event was the first of its kind.

The event was a major move for Cannabis10X on its mission to 10x the growth of the cannabis industry by providing capital, strategic partnerships, and franchise strategies to the strongest industry leaders in the space.

The monthly international events are creating new strategic alliances for funds and brands. The expo-style events include virtual booths, 1-to-1 networking, speed-round, Shark-Tank-styled pitches, and live audience voting.

Themed to the "Roaring Twenties," Cannabis10X founders Jason Tropf and Holly A Ford brought the live audience to an old movie venue (virtually), reminding everyone that the Great Depression's end was funded by taxes gained by repealing prohibition. Are "Happy Days Here Again"? Could a century later see Trump follow FDR’s path and federally legalize cannabis to fund the COVID-19 crisis?

The duo explains how they selected the 20 final brands that pitched at the live event. “We had over 100 brand submissions. We interviewed each with a phone pitch and entered the strong ones in the order they submitted,” said Tropf. “There are a lot of excellent concepts out there that could move quickly into industry leaders with small to mid-sized investments.”

The Virtual Event led off with John Morris of Seraphim Capital revealing the opportunity that manifested in the wake of COVID-19. The esteemed cast of industry experts included John Gainor, Partner, Oreon Capital; Robert Kerr, Managing Partner, Eqcho Capital; and Michael Huttner, Managing Director, Young America Capital.

Cannabis10X appointed judges were Matthew Nordgren, founder and Managing Partner of Arcadian Fund; Hamish Sutherland, founder and co-CEO, White Sheep Corp; and Merrick Friedman, Welcan Capital Investor.
