CapeSym Introduces New SrI2 Developers Kit for High-Accuracy Gamma Detection

This new product offers a plug-and-play solution for spectroscopic gamma detection. The unit is optimized for maximum performance and is field-deployable.

CapeSym, Inc. announced today that they are offering a fully-integrated gamma detector made with strontium iodide scintillator crystals grown at their USA manufacturing facility. These high-performance scintillators offer energy resolution better than 3.5% at 662 keV, stopping power on-par with sodium iodide, and negligible intrinsic activity (0.03-0.05 Bq/cm3). The compact, fully contained, plug-and-play Developer Kit is powered and controlled by a USB connected to a PC or laptop. The unit contains a SrI2(Eu) scintillator, an optically coupled Hamamatsu photomultiplier tube, high voltage supply, digital multi-channel analyzer, and browser-based graphical user interface. The integrated electronics are calibrated for optimal spectroscopic performance. The field-deployable design can be used as a stand-alone spectrometer, or as an OEM building block. For more information, including a full .pdf brochure, visit their website at www.capesym.com, or email [email protected].

The unit will be demonstrated at these upcoming exhibitions:

We are excited to offer an integrated solution for our strontium iodide product line. We anticipate it will truly help our customers accelerate their own development.
