Capstone Goes Digital With New Apps and Games
Online, May 3, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Capstone Digital announces the release of its first interactive book for Apple's iPad, iPhone and iTouch platforms, and the forthcoming release of a new game for Nintendo DSi.
"This is an exciting time for Capstone. We're collaborating with our publishing imprints to create new digital content, we're expanding into new areas and formats, and we're enhancing kids' reading experiences by creating fun opportunities for them to learn," said Todd Brekhus, President of Capstone Digital.
Collaborating with Capstone fiction imprint Stone Arch Books, Capstone Digital has converted Finn Reeder, Flu Fighter, a popular newly published children's novel about the H1N1 pandemic, into an interactive book application for Apple platforms.
To meet the needs of both technologically savvy children and struggling readers, the new application includes unique interactive features: full audio and optional highlighted text to help the reader follow the story.
"We're delighted with our first foray in the app market and we're extremely excited about the future possibilities. The Stone Arch Books library holds a wealth of titles that will really shine in the digital space," said Lori Benton, General Manager/Publisher of Capstone Fiction.
The new application is available for purchase in Apple's iTunes store at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flu-fighter-interactive-book/id362886617?mt=8.
Engaging children using the platforms they enjoy, Capstone Digital will launch the release of the Spot It Challenge game for Nintendo DSi in May. The learning-based, scavenger hunt game features the best puzzles from the Spot It book series, published by Capstone nonfiction imprint Capstone Press for preK and early elementary grades, and challenges players to find hidden objects in puzzles through multiple levels of increasing difficulty.
These new products deliver content in exciting and innovative formats directly into the hands of young digital learners.
