CarbonSystems Enhances Americas Operations with Addition of Software Veteran, Ralph Breslauer, as President
Online, May 3, 2011 (Newswire.com) - New York - CarbonSystems, a leading global provider of carbon management and sustainability accounting solutions, announced today that it is enhancing its Americas operations with the addition of software industry veteran, Ralph Breslauer, as president. Breslauer is a seasoned technology executive with expertise in managing high-growth early-stage and established organizations.
With more than 25 years of enterprise software experience, he was most recently chief executive officer of Vertica where he delivered triple-digit revenue growth. He has completed more than a dozen M&A transactions, including a purchase and a sale of over $1 billion, and debt and equity funding in excess of $1 billion. In his role as president of CarbonSystems' Americas operations, Breslauer is responsible for driving sales and marketing strategy, as well as developing key strategic partnerships throughout the region to expand the company's footprint and impact on corporate sustainability.
"Our Enterprise Sustainability Platform, with its proven track record for monitoring carbon emissions and energy consumption, helps public and private sector organizations accurately report on and manage their energy consumption from the basement to the boardroom," said David Solsky, chief executive officer of CarbonSystems. "We are thrilled to be expanding our Americas presence, and the impact of ESP, with Ralph at the helm. He brings a wealth of relevant experience and we look forward to continuing our growth under his leadership."
CarbonSystems delivers carbon management and sustainability accounting solutions for more than 100 enterprises of all sizes and across industries, including Canon, Deloitte, Colliers, Akso Nobel and Fuji Xerox, as well as government agencies serving various constituencies. The company's flagship product, ESP, is a web-based Software as a Service (SaaS) platform designed with intuitive dashboards and reporting capabilities to help organizations immediately:
- Reduce time and cost to manage sustainability data

"With the current social and economic climate in the Americas, it is imperative that organizations garner a greater understanding of their impact on the environment and take ownership of their sustainability," said Breslauer. "I am pleased to be joining a team that has made it their business to give organizations an easy, effective way to do just that."
Prior to joining CarbonSystems and running Vertica, Breslauer was executive vice president of global sales and marketing for Aspect Software, where he delivered more than $600 million in profitable revenue. Breslauer has also held the following executive positions: senior vice president of worldwide field operations for eRoom Technology; and vice president of marketing and business development for Informix Software's $700 million Database Group, now part of IBM.
