Cardinal Court Alzheimer's Special Care Center Receives Deficiency-Free Annual State Survey

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio, November 10, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Cardinal Court Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Strongsville, OH, a JEA Senior Living assisted living community, has achieved a deficiency-free annual survey in October of 2020 as administered by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) .

For an assisted living community to achieve a deficiency-free survey, all services provided at the facility must meet or exceed all state and federal standards. A deficiency-free survey in Ohio's rigorous inspection is uncommon and a key indicator of excellence for an assisted living community. According to ODH, there are 700 assisted living senior communities in Ohio and only about 10-15% receive a deficiency-free rating.

Assisted living communities are inspected every nine to 15 months to evaluate services and systems in place. During a multi-day process, inspectors arrive unannounced to conduct interviews, inspect the physical building, observe the operations, and check records. Surveyors determine compliance with regulations in areas including; quality of care, quality of service, safety, residents' rights, and confidentiality. The assisted living community is awarded a "deficiency-free" survey when each of these regulations are met.
