Career Break Site Relaunched
Online, January 7, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Not just a facelift, the entire site has been rebuilt with a new database stuffed full of exciting career break opportunities. Bored workers can now do an advanced search for a career break, choosing from a range of activities and areas. They can also tell the site how long they want to go for and when they want to leave. They'll then get a list of career break options to match their needs, and can start planning their getaway!
There are handy icons next to each project to show potential grown-up gappers things like the price band, whether skills or experience are required, and if it's a group activity or the sort of thing you do on your own.
There's also a whole new section on what to do, divided into volunteering, TEFL, travel, work and learning. Each section has information and advice, plus a list of organisations that can help you achieve your dreams.
As well as the new career break database, the site has been given a fresh new look, and all the content has been reviewed, refreshed, and brought bang up-to-date. There's help with money, advice on talking to your employer, and an inspiration section if you're not sure where to start.
The Career Break Site is independent and free to use. It was set up by Rachel Morgan-Trimmer after she took a career break and found there wasn't much useful information about for people like her. She says 'The new search facility will make it quicker and easier for people to find the perfect career break for them. The options are so varied - you can choose to become a ski instructor in Canada or go swimming with elephants in Thailand! We have a strict vetting process for all the organisations who feature on the site so career breakers have that extra bit of reassurance as well'
