Career Times survey reveals workplace sentiments over swine flu threats

Hong Kong's working population to remain vigilant about potential H1N1 outbreaks at work

Hong Kong, 10 September 2009 - Career Times, a leader in recruitment advertising, today announced that nearly 70 per cent of people surveyed say extra vigilance increases their stress levels. The survey, conducted online by Career Times' in-house IT department from 25 June 2009 to 20 July 2009, involved 928 CareerTimes.com.hk members.

The Hong Kong SAR Government has issued advice on precautions earlier in April but results from the Career Times survey indicate that more than 22 per cent of employers failed to step up precautionary measures, leaving a responding number of employees dissatisfied.

Other key findings:
- More than half of the respondents continue to travel out of Hong Kong for business
- Over 70 per cent of respondents are worried about contracting the H1N1 virus from commuters
