Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company Donates 250 Pounds Of Soap to Soap Hope

Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company, maker of high-quality natural soaps, is donating 250 pounds of soap to Soap Hope, an all-natural body care products retailer, to support Soap Hope's business model of investing 100% of profits into women in poverty.

Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company, a California-based maker of high-quality natural soaps, is donating 250 pounds of soap to Soap Hope, a Dallas-based social venture that sells all-natural body care products online and invests 100% of profits to fight women's poverty worldwide.

The donated soap will be used to make Soap Hope's "Hope Pourri" product - a small golden sachet filled with all-natural soap chunks. Soap Hope gives Hope Pourri to partner non-profits that benefit women in need for use at charity fundraiser events.

Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company co-owner Amanda Orloff remarked, "Soap Hope and Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company share similar values. We are delighted to support Soap Hope's social business model to fight women's poverty."

Orloff and her business partner Alex J Sanchez were inspired to start making soap after hearing stories of Alex's own grandmother long ago making soap on the Monterey Penninsula. Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company is dedicated to giving back to their community, offering different themed charitable soaps that donate $1.00 per sale to charities such as Animal Friends Rescue Project, American Junior Golf Association, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and more.

Soap Hope's unique business model is called Good Returns. Soap Hope loans 100% of profits interest-free to non-profit microlending institutions to grow the amount of funds available to women in need. These partner institutions provide loans, business training, literacy classes, and healthcare services to women in the poorest parts of the world. These programs enable women to create their own small enterprises and lift families and entire communities from poverty.

Soap Hope co-founder Salah Boukadoum said, "We are so grateful to Amanda and Alex for contributing to our anti-poverty mission. It's great to work together with like-minded businesses who not only want to offer top-quality products, but also want to improve conditions for those in need. If all businesses would adopt this mindset, we could quickly solve some of our world's greatest challenges."
