CarolinaTechNews Launches to Build Stronger Innovation Community in North and South Carolina
Professionally Edited Online News Outlet Reporting on Business, Innovation and Education
RESEARCH TRIANGLE, NC, November 2, 2015 (Newswire.com) - CarolinaTechNews.com, North and South Carolina's technology news source, has successfully launched with a mission to build a stronger innovation community in the region.
The professionally edited online news outlet publishes original articles and submitted news items dealing with business, innovation and education.
“There’s so much great news out there that’s not getting coverage in mainstream news outlets. It’s exciting to be able to help shed some light on the amazing things going on in our region,” Editor/Publisher David Menzies said.
CarolinaTechNews originally started as NCTechNews, as Menzies looked to generate extra buzz for his North Carolina-based public relations clients by sharing news items online. Soon after, several of his peers in the PR realm heard about the publication and began sending him their news to publish, and the concept took on the shape of a regional online news publication concentrating on technology and its intersection with business and education.
“I started getting submissions from businesses and organizations just over the border in South Carolina, and when I began to get PR clients there and learned more about its innovation economy I realized I needed to expand the coverage, hence the change to CarolinaTechNews,” Menzies explained.
The publication is updated daily, with Menzies utilizing his past experience as a print newspaper editor to hand-select and edit submitted news items and create original pieces. Any business, organization, or educational institution is welcomed to submit press releases and other news items at no charge to [email protected], as long as they have something to do with North or South Carolina.
After the articles are published on CarolinaTechNews and its underlying RSS feed, they are shared on social media via the publication’s Twitter and Facebook feeds.
“It’s pretty rewarding to see this take off and to be able to give something back to the place I call home,” Menzies said, adding, “We’re coming up on half-a-million page views shortly and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
