Carter Oosterhouse To Appear At Central Ohio Home & Garden Show

Online, February 10, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Carter Oosterhouse, star of HGTV's Carter Can, will appear at the 2011 Central Ohio Home & Garden Show, presented by gridSMART from AEP Ohio. Oosterhouse will share his handyman expertise and green building ideas with audiences on Saturday, March 5 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the Home Idea Center Stage. Following each presentation, Oosterhouse will sign autographs.

In the HGTV's series Carter Can, Oosterhouse reaches out to homeowners who think that their home improvement project can't be completed due to barriers like time, expenses or lack of expertise. While others may not be able to pull it off, Carter Can, using his extensive building and carpentry skills to solve challenging renovation dilemmas. In addition to practical advice, Carter provides green building solutions and design alternatives that conserve energy and reduce environmental waste to each renovation project.

The youngest of four children, Oosterhouse was born and raised in Traverse City, MI. His summer odd jobs of home repair turned into a full-time career for Oosterhouse. Adored by the camera since his first TV appearance, Carter was featured as People magazine's 2003 Sexiest Man Alive issue. He's also been on the cover and featured in many other publications including TV Guide, Star, US Weekly, Organic Style and USA Today. Oosterhouse has even charmed Oprah Winfrey. Audiences may also have caught his multiple appearances on Rachael Ray, The Today Show and The CBS Early Show.

Oosterhouse lives in Los Angeles and is happy to lend his time and talent to several children's charities, including his own charity, Carter's Kids.

The 2011 Central Ohio Home & Garden Show, presented by gridSMART from AEP Ohio, begins Saturday, Feb. 26, and runs through Sunday, March 6, at the Ohio Expo Center. The show's continued popularity has led to extended hours to accommodate day trips, corporate and social groups and clubs. For 2011, the show hours are: Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Tuesday-Friday, noon to 8 p.m. CLOSED MONDAY, February 28th. Tickets are $12 at the door for adults.
