CASA for Children Receives Year End Gift From Zapproved to Support Local Foster Kids Advocacy Programs
Portland, OR, December 30, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Zapproved, Portland, Oregon-based pioneer in developing cloud-based software for corporate legal departments, today presented CASA for Children of Multnomah, Washington, and Columbia Counties a check for $2500 to support its advocate training programs.
A CASA advocate is the tireless and passionate protector of a child who has been abused or neglected and is going through the trauma of the foster care system.
"We are proud to support CASA in helping them take up the cause for vulnerable children in our foster care system," said Chris Bright, VP of Marketing for Zapproved. "As a member of the community supporting the justice system we wanted to make a contribution on behalf of those who have precious few voices on their side."

“In an overburdened child welfare system, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are granted authority by the court, to advocate on behalf of children in foster care to help ensure a child’s critical needs and interests are considered by the court," said Betsy Stark Miller, Executive Director at CASA for Children. “Zapproved’s support allows us to train the citizen volunteers (CASAs) who serve as a voice for foster children in need.”

About CASA
CASA for Children of Multnomah, Washington, and Columbia Counties annually recruits, trains, and supports 451 CASA volunteers who will advocate for nearly 1,100 foster children in our communities. Since 1985, our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers have helped 16,000 children find safe and permanent homes. We advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children who are under the protection of the court. In the three counties we serve, two-thirds of the children in foster care are still waiting for the help a CASA can bring.
