Casa Nuevo Vida Promotes Recreational Activities as Part of Recovery

Casa Nuevo Vida, the "house of new life," promotes therapeutic recreation as part of its sober living program. It offers a holiday to Los Barriles, Mexico to residents who have completed 90 days of sobriety.

Los Angeles, CA - Casa Nuevo Vida, a California-based provider of after care services for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts, has prided itself with going the extra mile to help its residents regain sobriety. While offering an environment that is most conducive to healing is Casa Nuevo Vida's priority, it also recognizes the importance of recreation to the recovery process. To emphasize the importance of leisure activities for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts, Casa Nuevo Vida will continue its successful Fun in Recovery Program in 2012.

The Fun in Recovery Program is a week of boating, fishing, quad riding, jet skiing, scuba diving, and other fun activities in Los Barriles, Mexico offered by Casa Nuevo Vida to all residents who have remained sober for 90 days. Casa Nuevo Vida covers the essential expenses for the trip including airfare, food, and lodging as a reward for the hard work that residents have put in to keep to their sober living program.

"At Casa Nuevo Vida, we believe that sober living homes should help treat the whole person. We launched our Fun in Recovery Program to help our residents learn how to enjoy life again. Aside from giving them time to bond and have fun, recreational activities allow our residents to relive a healthy lifestyle, instill the importance of having clean fun and balance in their lives, and provide them with wholesome coping skills," Casa Nuevo Vida owner David Marvin explains.

The trip to Mexico strengthened the residents' decision to embrace sobriety and allowed them to experience that recovery can be fun and exciting. "Mexico was one of the most serene and at the same time exciting experiences I can remember. My favorite part of the trip, next to the food, was riding the four-wheelers into the mountains and simply the camaraderie with my brothers in recovery," Larry shares. "This is the best part of my recovery so far! Just being able to spend time with my house brothers and David made the trip the best I could imagine," Tim added.

Casa Nuevo Vida currently has three sober living homes located in Los Angeles: in Cheviot Hills, Culver City, and San Fernando Valley. For more information on Casa Nuevo Vida's amenities, services, and programs, please visit CasaNuevoVida.com or call directly at (888)390-6229.
