Castle Windows Blazes Trail in Lead Protection
New EPA Regulations Have Little Effect on Eco-Friendly Company
(Englewood Cliffs, NJ June 8, 2010) When the Environmental Protection Agency recently announced several new actions to prevent lead paint poisoning in the workplace, Castle Windows didn't complain about what these new regulations would do to its business. Instead, the New Jersey based company welcomed the opportunity to show how it was at the forefront in protecting its workers and clients. Under the new EPA rule, contractors working on pre-1978 homes must take special training courses in lead paint removal and they must fully protect the homeowner when removing lead paint.
"The practices that the EPA now requires are not much different from the methods that we have employed in the past to protect the client's home" , says Castle Window co-owner Chris Cardillo. "We are happy to see new legislation and we hope that it forces all home improvement companies to keep their customers safe from lead contaminates."
Unfortunately, almost a million children have elevated blood lead levels as a result of exposure to lead hazards which can lead to lower intelligence, learning disabilities, and behavior issues. Due to this, Castle Windows has led the charge for environmentally friendly installation process and energy efficient windows so no harm is done to children or any beings for that matter.
Castle Window employees are trained in lead containment which allows Castle Windows to protect work sites and families using heavy coverings, special vacuum and posted warning signs alerting all of the dangers of lead.
Castle Windows is not only a pioneer in eco-friendly construction, but they also offer a lifetime warranty on all windows. Castle Windows has been ranked the #1 window company in QR Magazine three years in a row, and is the 6thlargest home improvement company in the nation. "We are proud of our successes and proud of our growth," said Cardillo. "But we are most proud of the fact that we continue to work tirelessly to protect our planet and all who inhabit it."
