Please join us on February 24 for an unforgettable night of exquisite cuisine, fine wines, and premium spirits
Online, February 20, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Philanthropy never looked so good. On February 24, please join us for the Catwalk Cure (www.catwalkcure.ca) runway show and event held at Muzik. This evening will include gourmet cuisine prepared by Toronto's finest chefs, fine wines, premium spirits - and will finish off with a spectacular fashion show. Playing host to over five hundred of Toronto's most affluent businessmen, this event is not to be missed. This year's Catwalk Cure is held in support of Dr. Michael Baker and the Complex Care program he and his team provide at University Health Network.
"Having recently just lost my mother to cancer, I am directly connected to this cause and realize the importance of this Complex Care program. Dr. Baker had played such an attentive role in my mother's illness with his personable attitude; he really exceeded the call of duty. I have chaired this event since it's inception, I am proud to remain involved with this extremely important fundraiser in memory of my mother Alma Fidani which raises money for UHN and the Complex Care program that cares for more than 3,200 patients each year," says Michelle Fidani. "The significance of The Complex Care program is that it works with patients who have multiple illnesses and streamlines their level of care to optimize their comfort and ensure accessibility to the resources in the hospital."
This year, one of the highlights of the evening is the runway show featuring some of Toronto's most beautiful women wearing collections from Top Canadian Designers. To add to the excitement, and to nurture new talent, a design challenge will feature carefully juried entries and winning designs from the students at the Academy of Design who will make their debut on the runway the night of the event. Sponsored by Fabricland, this next generation of designers will showcase a gown inspired by the theme of the event - Celestial Signs of the Zodiac.

About Catwalk Cure: Catwalk Cure is always a sold out event that attracts five hundred of Toronto's most affluent businessmen. These gentlemen lend their enthusiastic support to an extremely important cause. This year, the event is co-chaired by Sylvia Mantella and Michelle Fidani, who has chaired the event since its inception. Fidani is directly connected to the cause, having just lost her mother, Alma Fidani, to a battle with cancer a year ago. While Alma was under the direct care of Dr. Michael Baker, Fidani and her family realized the importance of his program and decided to take the helm and run this year's fundraiser - now in memory of Alma. Fidani and Mantella continue to support the efforts of Dr. Baker and his pursuit to offer hope and support to his patients, just as he did with Alma.
