Caution: Be Careful What You Say. It Can Bring You Unintended Fame.
StuffPeopleSay.com seeks to aggregate all of the nonsense your friends, family, and co-workers say and make it easy to share those sayings with everyone.
Online, March 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - SAN FRANCISCO - Your parents do it. Your friends do it. Your boss and coworkers definitely do it. Sometimes, even you do it. Everyone's had a moment where they or someone they know has said something funny or stupid. StuffPeopleSay.com wants to capture those unintended (or intended) moments of hilarity and make it easy to share them with the world.
"The market for laughter and nonsense has never been hotter," Chief Laughter Officer Jimmy Ku said when asked about the reason for starting another humor site where users submit, comment, and vote on what they find to be humorous or mildly entertaining. Funny sayings have for many years resided primarily within status messages on gchat, facebook, and other IM programs. Twitter, tumblr, and blogs have also become a venue for funny sayings. And, more recently, traditional media has shown an interest in this area with books and even a TV show. The message is clear - you're hilarious. The world just needs to hear what you have to say.
"We felt that people needed a platform to share those funny sayings with everyone," the Systems Manager Aggregating Random Things You Say (SMARTYS) Officer, Brandon Goldman said. As with other submission-based websites, there are specific criteria for submissions. Every submission requires that you show who said it and the saying itself. Some can have context attached but often times it's funnier to leave it ambiguous. We leave that up to the user submitting the saying. Submissions will then be voted on by moderators and other users. The top submissions will show up on the main website.
We encourage you to check out stuffpeoplesay.com today and submit your own sayings. Who knows what may happen once your sayings show up on the site. But, if your sayings don't show up, we encourage you to submit more. After all, we can't display everything we get. Some just aren't very funny.
