The theme of the weekend is 'Collecting with the Stars' to celebrate the Silver Anniversary of the Florida show and also the launch of Royal Doulton's new collection of dancing figurines. Michael Doulton, the 5th generation descendant of the company founder, will be at the show on Saturday January 29th to sign all the new Royal Doulton figurines, as well as the Character Jug of the Year, a portrait of President Barack Obama.

Lladro from Spain will be featuring their stunning collection of porcelain ballet figurines to coincide with the performances of the Miami City Ballet at the Kravis Center on the same weekend. The Miami City Ballet is also celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and there will be a chance to win tickets to a future performance.

Royal Crown Derby, one of England's oldest porcelain factories, will be making their debut at the Florida show and pre-viewing their commemorative collection for the forthcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Derby will also be exhibiting a collection of Titanic commemorative china inspired by their beautiful dinner ware which set sail on the 1912 voyage.

Ceramic artists from England will be demonstrating their exceptional modeling and decorating skills, such as hand-painting and tube-lining, a specialty of the Moorcroft pottery in Stoke-on-Trent. Watch this artistry in action and test your skills at the master-classes during the weekend.

In contrast to these world-renowned china companies, the Florida Expo also showcases smaller studio potteries, notably Ardmore Ceramic Art in South Africa where talented Zulu artists create hand-made and hand-painted designs in exuberant colors.

More than half the Florida expo is dedicated to antique ceramic art made by Doulton's Victorian art pottery as well as stunning Doulton figurines from the 1920s and 30s which are very rare today. Discover more about these fascinating collectibles at the lecture program hosted by ceramics expert, Louise Irvine, from London.
