Celebrity Deaths Spur Last Will Downloads
Online, December 21, 2009 (Newswire.com) - This year's celebrity deaths have taken an effect on the online purchases of last will and testaments. The sales volume has jumped considerably because of the many farewells in the world of the rich and famous - such as those of Patrick Swayze and Farrah Fawcett. But it was Michael Jackson's death that led to the most dramatic increase. Google searches for "Last Will" have amazingly jumped since Mr. Jackson's death at the end of June this year, doubling for the three weeks immediately following his death.
FORMBLITZ offers a wide-variety of legal documents for download including last will templates for every state. FORMBLITZ customers have explained in customer surveys and via email that the many stars who had recently passed away finally convinced them to get a will of their own. As FORMBLITZ Project Manager Iris S. Hafner explains, "We have experienced a huge increase in sales of our wills and have decided to survey our customers in order to find out what was driving such remarkable growth."
The survey clarified what FORMBLITZ has been hearing informally from its customers: it was the many deaths of iconic figures that had caused such a large increase. October sales of wills at FORMBLITZ, for example, were almost twice as much as in the previous months.
Downloading and completing a will from the customers own home also made it easier and cheaper for customers to create a will. FORMBLITZ co-founder Werner Vollert says, "That was the idea that inspired us to create FORMBLITZ: we wanted an easy and economical online portal where customers could get their documents quickly. The sales spike in wills has illustrated this; people who might have never made a will have one now, and have the peace of mind that having a will brings."
