Celebrity Stylist Daniel DiCriscio Revisits Involvement with Simpson Trial Players
Online, December 20, 2010 (Newswire.com) - In the mid 1990's, During the most publicized criminal trial in American history, also called, the "Trial of the Century", key players, Faye Resnick, Kato Kaelin, and Star Jones were thrust into the media spotlight.
Along with their instant aquired fame, DiCriscio, a Hairstylist to the Stars, working in Beverly Hills, California, was called upon to help with their image while the spotlight shined down on them.
Faye Resnick, friend to slain victim Nicole Brown Simpson, who is currently seen on the hit Bravo series, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills", during Camille Grammer's dinner party episode, was a regular client of DiCriscio's, and approached him one day to ask if he would be interested in working with her on her Playboy Magazine cover shoot and celebrity layout.
Playboy wanted Faye to "look sexy". The original cover shoot, that DiCriscio did not work on, was scrapped, because Faye "wasn't sexy enough", and looked like a "Librarian". Hugh Hefner himself dissapproved of the former photos. DiCriscio stepped in and took Faye from a flat haired brunette, to an over the top blonde Sex Kitten. DiCriscio did the hair (cut, color, and styling), posings, and consulting for the cover as well as the layout.
The shoot took place in Montecito, Mexico, and at Playboy Studio West. The curled hair style on Resnick, which DiCriscio is credited for starting, started a trend that was then copied by many celebrities, including Jessica Simpson.
DiCriscio also used a variation of the style on his client Pamela Anderson for her George magazine cover shoot and layout. DiCriscio is credited in both Playboy and George. DiCriscio recalls that there were no flat irons at that time, and curling irons and rollers were a no-no. DiCriscio was the highest paid stylist for Playboy at the time.
With O.J. Simpson trial player Kato Kaelin, DiCriscio was asked work with Kaelin on his Playgirl cover shoot and layout, which took place at the Groundlings Theatre and the Bel Age hotel, in Los Angeles. DiCriscio did Kaelin's hair and make-up, and consulted on the cover and layout as well. DiCriscio is credited in the magazine and is seen in the magazine applying Kaelin's make-up during the shoot.
DiCriscio also worked with Star Jones, who was covering the civil trial for the hit television news show Inside Edition and was the voice for Simpson at the time. DiCriscio cut, colored, and styled Jones' hair for her many appearances on Inside Edition.
DiCriscio is currently at work on his own Docu-Series, aka "Reality Show", which follows his life as as Celebrity Stylist in Los Angeles and is penning a Tell-All Book based on his life and career in the entertainment industry.
