Ceo of Nwa Insurance Agency to Co-Host Children's Safety Center Event

Jordan Greer, of G&G Independent Insurance, Will Co-Host The Children's Safety Center Tour of Dreams Event in October

Jordan Greer, CEO of G&G Independent Insurance (G&G), a full service insurance agency located in Fayetteville, Ark., will co-host an event, with Richard Watkins of Polygroup, aimed at raising awareness and support for children in need. The Children’s Safety Center Tour of Dreams event will begin at 12 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the Children’s Safety Center (CSC) in Springdale.

CSC is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 with the goal of facilitating more effective prevention, detection, investigation and treatment of child abuse, according to their website. The group renders resources of law enforcement, child protective services, victim service providers, prosecutors, medical personnel, mental health professionals and community volunteers.

“I realized very early on in my involvement with the CSC that I was passionate about the work they do in our community,” Greer, who serves on the CSC Board of Directors, said.

In 2015, CSC provided services to 546 children in the Northwest Arkansas community which included on-site therapy to 131 children, according to their website.

“The CSC’s mission is to empower children to overcome abuse and begin to trust, hope and heal. On average, it costs just over $1,600 for each child the center services. All of these services are provided free of charge to the victim and this organization is not funded by our state or federal governments. The majority of their funding comes from donations, fundraisers and grants. As a community, it is our responsibility to make sure organizations like the CSC are around for the children who don’t know they need them yet,” Greer said.

“I feel that it is our civic duty to serve, and the Children’s Safety Center is a place where I feel that I can help make a difference in our local community,” Richard Watkins, co-host of the event and member of the CSC Board of Directors, said.

“I hope to help bring awareness to our community about the difficult journey a child experiences when a CSC is not around, and how vitally important it is for us to continue to sustain them.  Every dollar raised stays here locally and helps offset the $1,600 cost of services each child receives,” Watkins said.
