Cetrom Information Technology, Inc.: Protect your Business from Hurricanes Season with Cloud Computing

Businesses in the areas that are hit by these hurricanes will undoubtedly encounter the possibility of extended power outages and the potential physical damage to their commercial office space.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released its 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook last month, forecasting a very active and potentially dangerous year of activity across the entire Atlantic Basin. The six month season is traditionally recognized from June 1 through November 30. Various factors are cited by the NOAA, leading to their prediction of a seventy percent chance of up to seven major hurricanes this season, classified at Category 3 or higher. Businesses in the areas that are hit by these hurricanes will undoubtedly encounter the possibility of extended power outages and the potential physical damage to their commercial office space.

"Unfortunately, I know a number of business owners that have had to endure a major hurricane event in the past, and some of their businesses were unable to survive the impact," says Christopher Stark, CETROM IT President and CEO. "It's difficult to see something like that happen, because it affects not only the business, but their employees, and their vendors as well. The challenges that a business faces in just trying to recover their business data in an event like this can be one of their greatest hurdles in determining the speed in which they are able to recover. One of the biggest advantaged to "Cloud Computing" is the ability for a business to access their email and applications from anywhere at anytime, giving them the opportunity to temporarily relocate of premise, as needed, when events like this occur."
