Charity Bag Manufacturer Bonnington Plastics Today Announced An Increase In Charity Donations Due To Sir Ranulph Fiennes' 'The Coldest Journey'
UK charity bags manufacturer Bonnington Plastics today announced an increase in charity donations due to the latest expedition from Sir Ranulph Fiennes, 'The Coldest Journey'.
Online, September 18, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Bonnington Plastics, a UK based charity bags manufacturer, today announced an increase in charity donations due to the announcement of Sir Ranulph Fiennes' latest expedition, 'The Coldest Journey'.
The Independent, a newspaper, reported that 'The Coldest Journey' is a six month trek that Sir Ranulph Fiennes and his team of five will be attempting across Antarctica during the frozen polar winter. This is a time when temperatures are at -70 degrees and there is no sunlight for the whole six months that the team will be completing their 2,000 mile crossing. In order to make the journey possible the team will be using sonar equipment to check for dangerous ice crevasses, some of which can span for over 35 kilometres, and will seriously endanger the expedition.
The expedition is raising money for the charity 'Seeing Is Believing', which works to fight avoidable blindness and the causes of it. A customer service representative from Bonnington Plastics added, "With the announcement of Sir Ranulph Fiennes' latest expedition the charities we manufacture donation bags for have increased their orders. When we asked why this was, we were told that charities are now more hopeful of, and have been receiving more donations in the wake of this charitable expedition".
Through the recent Double Dip Recession many charities had a serious lack of donations which caused them to close down, as reported by the newspaper, The Guardian. Sir Ranulph Fiennes has always been an inspirational character, and with this new expedition set to raise $10 million for charity there are high hopes that more people will be confident enough to run fund raising expeditions just as Sir Ranulph Fiennes is, and begin to donate more to charities.
