ChartWise Medical Systems to Debut First of Its Kind ChartWise 2.0 Software at 85th Annual AHIMA Conference

ChartWise Medical Systems, Inc. will debut its powerful and groundbreaking new software product, ChartWise 2.0, this October at the 85th annual AHIMA Convention in Atlanta, Georgia.

ChartWise Medical Systems, Inc. (www.chartwisemed.com), an innovative Computer-Assisted Clinical Documentation Improvement (CACDI) software company, will debut its powerful and groundbreaking new software product, ChartWise 2.0, this October at the 85th annual AHIMA Convention in Atlanta, Georgia at booth #939.

ChartWise 2.0 will feature enhanced usability with significant new feature enhancements, unmatched reporting capabilities and "dual CDI" to ease the coming transition to ICD-10. Innovative mobile capabilities will afford physicians, coders and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) specialists the ability to review charts anywhere and at any time from their mobile device. A streamlined interface will allow the user to quickly and easily collect information pertaining to admissions, appropriate ICD codes and query generation. Furthermore, a split pane view will provide users the capability to see both ICD-9 and ICD-10 impact on the same screen concurrently.

"We've reached a tipping point in the clinical documentation arena where dual coding is on the verge of becoming an essential component of a hospital or medical centers' CDI program," said Dr. Jon Elion, founder and CEO of ChartWise Medical Systems. "The conversion to ICD-10, if handled properly and with the appropriate tools, can be executed seamlessly. The ability to dual code is a vital step in the transition and will serve as a core dependency for coders as they begin to familiarize themselves with the new coding system. And the Dual CDI functionality gives a CDS the ability to dual code without the double entry required by most systems."

ChartWise 2.0 is the only software in the space with built-in functionality to support true Dual CDI, greatly improving the efficiency of the CDI staff as it allows them to work in both ICD-9 and ICD-10 simultaneously. With Dual CDI, the CDS can send a query to a physician and the system will handle gathering both the ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes pertaining to that query and makes the results available for impact comparison. Additionally, with TruCode's grouping and encoder functionality embedded in the product, all the tools needed for an effective CDI program are in one place, including extensive research information and code search competencies.

The 85th annual AHIMA Convention and Exhibit will draw HIM thought leaders and professionals and healthcare executives from all areas of health informatics and information management for a weeklong focus on HIM's global transformation. This one-stop meeting provides comprehensive updates, education, and information on current and emerging HIM issues. This year's convention will be at the Georgia World Congress Center, A Hall in Atlanta, GA.
