Recently, The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street played host to the Club des Chefs des Chefs d'Etat or "Chefs of the Head of State," an elite group consisting of personal chefs to Kings, Princes and Presidents. This year, the Chefs des Chefs met in Beijing and was also hosted in the Great Hall of the People. The club holds sessions every 2 years in a foreign country.

The club, which has only about 30 members from around the world, is governed by strict rules. Only chefs working for members of a royal family or head of state can be admitted. The club was formed in 1977 at Collonges au Mont d'Or in France when Gilles Bragard, "Couturier of the Chefs" invited chefs of a few head of states to a social dinner. That evening, the club was formed where food trends, the evolution of the profession and the latest innovations in the industry could be discussed on a regular basis.

Mark Lettenbichler, Vice President Area General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street said: "We were delighted to have welcomed the elite group of culinary professionals from Club des Chefs des Chefs to Beijing. Led by executive chef Cyril Arrouard, our culinary team was honored to have been given the opportunity to share our experiences and culinary surprises with them."

Gilles Bragard, General Secretary of Club des Chefs des Chefs said: "The purpose of this Beijing visit is to reinforce the cultural ties between more than 30 great nations, promote the culinary tradition of each country and at the same time strengthen the cooperation between the organization and China. Also, all members had an amazing time exploring the history of Beijing and its culture - especially experiencing the taste of an authentic Peking duck."
