Chesapeake Selected as 2010 'Maryland Family Owned Business of the Year'

Online, March 31, 2010 (Newswire.com) - MILLERSVILLE, MD - Chesapeake Telephone Systems (CTS) has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration's Baltimore District Office to receive the 2010 'Maryland Family Owned Small Business of the Year' award.

After a rigorous evaluation process, Chesapeake was notified on March 1, 2010 of its selection. SBA District Director Stephen D. Umberger said of Chesapeake President Jeff Nolte, "Maryland's small business community is fortunate to benefit from your strong entrepreneurial leadership and your tireless advocacy efforts."

Nolte said it means a lot for the company to win the award in its 25th year of business, especially during a challenging economy.

The award will be presented to Chesapeake at an awards breakfast on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Martin's West in Woodlawn, Maryland. This event celebrates the achievement of Maryland's outstanding entrepreneurs and small business advocates.
