Online, September 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Chicago novelist and writer, Bryan W. Alaspa, is publishing the first three chapters of his upcoming novel, "The Dead Phone," on his website. Billing the release as a special sneak preview, fans will be able to read the first three chapters of what Mr. Alaspa has called his "scariest novel yet."
"It's a book that gave me the chills as I wrote it," said Mr. Alaspa. "That's a hard thing for a novel to do, since it's all up in my head and I have at least some idea of where it's going. This one, though, really got to me. I think fans of horror and ghosts are really going to love it."
"The Dead Phone" is a horror novel about a writer investigating a series of murders in a rural Pennsylvania town. The titular phone is a seemingly useless phone in the cottage where the writer is staying. Then, suddenly, the murders start again and the phone begins to ring in the dead of night. It is a terrifying supernatural thriller guaranteed to leave the reader chilled and staying up late into the night to turn the page.
"The Dead Phone" will be released as a ebook for Kindle and Nook. It will also be available on Smashwords for all other electronic reading devices such as the Kobo ereader. Finally, the book will also be available in a print edition through Amazon.com. At one time Mr. Alaspa was releasing his self-published novels in print, but moved away from that once he found success through the world of epublishing.
"I have found great success in the world of fiction through ebooks," said Mr. Alaspa. "However, people have asked me to make books available in print. This is the first one, in a while, that I felt was worthy of the additional expense. So, I am using Amazon's print platforms to bring out hard copy editions."
The novel will be released in October, 2011.
