Chicago-based Pet Care Company Partners with Local No-Kill Rescue; Enhances Adopter Offerings

iPet Chicago to donate 40 percent of adopter revenue to One Tail at a Time under partnership

iPet Chicago, a pet care service, announces its partnership with One Tail at a Time, a no-kill, all-breed dog rescue that serves to lower euthanasia rates in the greater Chicagoland area. As a result of the partnership, iPet Chicago will allocate 40 percent of its revenue earned from One Tail at a Time adopter referrals. In addition, iPet Chicago will provide valuable resources for One Tail at a Time adopters, including discounts on its dog walking and pet sitting services, and one-on-one personalized care.

One Tail at a Time concentrates its rescue efforts on dogs that are in danger of being euthanized, or those that are physically and/or mentally deteriorating in a shelter environment, works to rehabilitate them, and then matches each dog with a permanent home. Permanent homes are identified by One Tail at a Time volunteers, who match the lifestyles of potential adopters with each dog's personality and needs.

iPet Chicago's partnership with One Tail at a Time further supports these rescue efforts by offering pet care services that provide adequate attention and activity for dogs, ensuring that each dog is safe and content, and will remain a permanent member of the adopting household. As a result, proper pet care organizations should be chosen carefully based on its experience and expertise, such as: the ability to identify and work with different dog breeds and behaviors, diffuse problems between dogs before they start, know first aid procedures, and have a genuine love for dogs.

"We are thrilled and honored to partner up with One Tail at a Time," says Diego Leon, owner and founder of iPet Chicago. "Their rescue organization is committed to humane and personalized care for each dog they take in, and we operate under the same compassionate principles. When a new dog joins a family, it is extremely important that they receive proper care, attention and activity. In 2010, more than 17,000 pets were euthanized in Chicago alone. We want to contribute to reducing this number by assisting with One Tail at a Time's rescue efforts and providing long-term care for dogs. By linking an adopter to the proper pet care, owners can ensure their dog receives the right levels of attentiveness, ensuring a happier home for both the dog and the owner."

One Tail at a Time provides new adopters with education and support for the life of their dog, which ensures that more dogs will permanently remain in their new homes, and reduces the number of pets that are returned to the rescue or shelters each year. All of the rescue's dogs are adopted fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.

"Diego and iPet Chicago have been great supporters of our work and mission," explains One Tail at a Time co-founder, Andrea Juracek. "A primary reason that dogs end up in shelters is because families have busy lives and feel they can't give their pet the time and attention they deserve. Hiring a dog walker can help by giving your pet extra attention while you're at work. And we all know a tired dog is a good dog! We are excited to offer the public one more incentive to adopt, and adopters one more resource to keep their dogs happy and healthy."
