Chicago's Sneaker Obsession Takes The City By Storm In the Form Of The First Annual Sole Expo Sneaker Convention

Sole Expo is the first convention of its kind, not only focusing on the sneaker aspect, but also incorporating prominent figures from the sports, music and event-planning world. It is a two-day event, hosting over 150 vendors and 10,000 attendees.

Chicago sneakerheads and shoe enthusiasts alike are invited to the largest sneaker convention the Midwest has ever seen. The First Annual Sole Expo Convention will bring together the best minds in the sneaker world, music community, sports and event planners under one roof over the course of two days. Sole Expo is being held on July 19th and 20th from 12pm-7pm at Lacuna Artist Loft located at 2150 S. Canalport, Chicago.

Those in attendance of Sole Expo are invited to come peruse the largest and most impressive collection of shoes under one roof as well as buy, trade and sell with the top names in the industry. In addition to buying, selling, and trading, attendees are able to receive a custom consultation from world-renowned custom shoe designer, Jake Ferrato of JBF Customs. JBF Customs is known for its custom designs that combine an eye for detail and a taste for the finer things.  Sole Expo not only offers a bevy of shoe activity but also an opportunity to interact with some of the top names in hip-hop and Chicago’s music scene. Chicago native and the fasted rapper around, Twista, will be in attendance doing a meet and greet with fans. Fellow Chicago rapper, Chance the Rapper and musical prodigy Lee England Jr., of Brand Jordan will also be in attendance.

The convention will also be hosting a contest, Sole Survivor, which is a two-day live custom shoe design showdown. Six competitors will create custom designed shoes over the two days for the chance to win a cash prize. Some of the most elite custom designers in the industry will serve as judges including Jake Ferrato of JBF Customs, Mache Customs, El Cappy Customs, and special guest Judge Mathis. Sole Survivor is sponsored by Angelus, and will be providing all materials.  The Sole Survivor competition is also partnered with the Kicks For Creators foundation, an organization that helps young entrepreneurs get their companies up and running, an opportunity they may not have otherwise. The shoes created during the event will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to the non-profit.  Sole Expo will also be raffling off a multitude of other prizes over the course of the event, including a pair of the extremely sought after Yeezy 2 Red Octobers and a thousand dollars in prizes.

“The sneaker culture is ever growing and expanding and it deserved an event to showcase all that is happening right now. Sole Expo is bringing the best of the sneaker world to one venue, under one roof, and will truly highlight the ever evolving sneaker game and the latest innovations.” Said Alan Wehbi, the founder of Sole Expo.
