Chief Secretary of Punjab Government honoured 2500 LPU Students at 6th University Honour Ceremony

•Achiever-students are awarded with Rs 22 Lakh & University Rolls of Honour for their excellence in academics, sports, cultural & community services

Lovely Professional University organised its 6th 'University Honour Ceremony', today, to honour its meritorious & talented students. Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab, Mr Sarvesh Kaushal honoured 2500 LPU students. The ceremony is held annually to recognize students’ excellent achievements which are identified in the fields of academics, sports, placements, cultural & community services. The illustrious students were also awarded with prize money of Rs 22 Lakh along with University Rolls of Honour. The parents of the students from different states of India and other countries too witnessed the honouring ceremony of their wards. Lovely Group Chairman Mr Ramesh Mittal, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal & Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal welcomed the elite guest.

Addressing alike University management, teachers, students and parents; Mr Sarvesh Kaushal defined to them their respective roles in the society. Appreciating the university environment as the best, Mr Kaushal said: “All educational institutions must work hard to make students’ minds more fertile like farmers do on farmlands to get good yields. LPU is better than most of the foreign universities and its successful management are now working hard to see more and more success stories of future generation.” Addressing students he asked them to convert their worries and problems into challenges to be successful. Students should be rational in approach with an open mind and without prejudices. Mr Kaushal also told them what kind of successes limitless work for excellence, versatility, Inter- university participations might bring to them.”    

Prior to this, welcoming the Chief Guest Mr Kaushal, the students and their parents; Chancellor Mr Mittal said: "I am happy to note that every year our students strive in singularized manner to bring more and more laurels to the university. Starting honouring 50 students in the first ceremony, this year achievers have risen to massive number of 2500. I am happy to share that LPU not only strives to impart world class education but also shape students into holistic human beings. Their learning extends beyond the classroom on the sports fields, stages, researches, innovations so as to attract a large number of prime recruiters at the campus.” Mr Mittal was also happy to express that students’ attainments are in a way perfect branding of the University for Others to observe and applaud.

One of the awarded international students Bwalya Ephraim (B Sc MLT), from Zambia, who has 10 CGPA shared that LPU has transformed him into a hard working scholar to get A+ grade in all the courses.  Debanshu Chauhan who has already been awarded by the President of India for his community services was very humble in accepting that whatever he is today is only due to the teachings received at the university. Mrs & Mr Rajeshwar Rai (from Siwan), the parents of student Ravi Rai who has won Rs One Lakh in Tata Quiz, shared that their decision to get their enrolled at LPU has proved out as the supreme decision. Similar are the versions of Mrs and Mr Pawan Jagnani who joined the ceremony from Surat to see their highly placed daughter receive her honour. Parents felt grateful to university for developing personality of their wards through time to time encouragements.

Sportswoman Sandeep Kaur was jubilant while saying: "I am indeed very happy and  this honour means much to me. In spite of my being a student of a professional program my teachers not only identified my love for sports but they motivated me to participate in different competitions. They accorded patronage to me for letting me develop my love for sports."
