Christie Drills Into Data with Visualization Forum for Oil and Gas Industry in Houston
Online, March 16, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Christie, a leader in projection display solutions is hosting Christie Vis University (Vis U), a free educational visualization forum March 18-20 in Houston, Texas, with the help of partners NVIDIA, Halliburton, TSA and Dassault Systemes. End-users, integrators and consultants in the oil and gas industry seeking seismic data evaluation improvement in a collaborative environment will discover the benefits of advanced visualization and multi-site collaboration solutions.
In addition to helping attendees gain a better understanding of pixel density and resolutions in 4K and 3D at 120Hz performance, the educational forum is providing hands-on experience with industry-leading technologies including:
- The first 4K DLP full resolution projector with 120Hz 3D will be part of the lineup. The Christie Mirage 4K 3-chip DLP projector, with Christie Trulife for unprecedented image quality, will show a virtual training application using Dassault Systemes 3D Composer software.
- A multi-projector blended array featuring the Christie Mirage WQ-L (with workstation provided by TSA and software creation of subsurface models for oil and gas exploration applications provided by Paradigm Geophysical).
- Live demonstrations of Christie AutoCal auto-calibration tools.
- The Christie Brio multi-site presentation and collaboration solution, seamlessly integrated with the narrow bezel 55 inch Christie HD LCD flat panel.
Participants will learn more about the capabilities of visualization, with field experts presenting topics that include the benefits derived from high-resolution displays for the oil and gas industry, how to drive high resolution megapixel displays, image quality and trade-offs, and approaches to digital image warping.
"Keeping up with the latest, fastest, and brightest technology is challenging. When we bring together field experts, end-users, consultants and integrators, we expand the knowledge of not only those who need the solutions but also of those who provide them," said Zoran Veselic, vice president, Christie Visualization Environments. "This forum is an opportunity for customers to gain a better understanding of technology advancements in their industry while we aim to stay ahead of our customers' needs."
Oil and gas companies who have applied visualization technologies for viewing technical data in the exploration of key geologic resource basins have gained a significant increase in the clarity of their data by using high resolution display technologies.
