..."An odd thing came across the teleprompter, something that happened over four years and half years ago," said one of the Bobbies.
"What's so bloody odd?" asked the second Bobbie between a sip of dark ale.
"Ah, some African chieftain was on trial for conspiracy and the chief prosecution witness was found dead with his head on a spear," answered the first Bobbie.
"Yes, I remember that. A friend of mine told me it was a gruesome site. However, that was over four years ago. Ah man, why would something like a dead Blackie with his bloody head staked on a spear be of any interest to intelligence?"
"Hell, I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with that Mandela fellow. He has caused the South Africa government a lot of grief. Ah, but the ministers are also concerned that the violence don't spread into our neighboring colonies, and the African chieftain on trial was one of the bigwigs."
Linden approached the two men and raised his mug. "Here, here, to the Queen."
The Bobbies responded in jest and well other several other British officers. "Yes, our Queen," shouted the first Bobbie.
"Excuse me gents, my name is Jan Linden and I couldn't help overhearing your conversation and . . ."
"Foreigner if you ask me .'Twouldn't be anyone local," interrupted the first bobby. He looked at his friend and pointed his thumb down at Jan.
The second Bobbie grabbed this partner hand and turned his thumb upward, then looked at Jan. "The gent not all bad, he saluted our Queen.
