The first-ever North-East Ohio India Festival Tribute To Heroes 2010 event takes place on September 11, 2010 at Independence Middle School, Independence, Ohio from 12 noon to 9pm. Gov. Strickland has declared the day as "Tribute To Heroes Day".

The first-ever North-East Ohio India Festival Tribute To Heroes 2010 event takes place on September 11, 2010 at Independence Middle School, Independence, Ohio from 12 noon to 9pm. Gov. Strickland has declared the day as "India Festival USA - Tribute To Heroes Day". India Festival USA is an annual event that attempts to bridge cultures, generations and communities through one-day of togetherness. Activities for the day include computer recycling (partnering with onecommunity.org), exhibition area, basketball competition, You've Got Talent Competition, shopping, Taste Of India Food Festival and sessions on stress-management. Senator Nina Turner, Mayor Gregory Kurtz and other prominent leaders will be the special guests in the "Tribute To Heroes 2010" evening award ceremony. Honorees include Lt. Gen Robert Wagner (US Army) and Lt. Col Om Julka (Indian Army). Awards will also be given to service personnel and young achievers from the community.
